TheBrowser

TheBrowser is probably one of the worst and unoriginal names we have ever seen. However, regardless of this fact, we must provide you with the most relevant information about it, because its falls into the category of potentially unwanted programs, so you might want to remove it. As its name implies, TheBrowser is a web browser based on the Chromium platform, so visually it looks identical to Google Chrome. However, this undesirable browser has some modifications that we will emphasize in this article. This browser is not considered as malicious, but it has one particular feature that you should be aware of, so please read this short description if you have it on your computer.

Browsers, such as TheBrowser are pretty common these days. Over a short period of time we have encountered a lot of Chromium-based browsers including: ShieldPlus, Qword Browser, Chedot, and Securor Browser. All of the aforementioned browsers come from different developers, but they all look like Google Chrome. However, each of them has specific problems. In the case of TheBrowser the main issue is its homepage and new tab page which is set to www-mysearch.com.

This seemingly unique search engine is reminiscent of Bing.com and, in fact, it redirects all of its searches to it. So it offers nothing unique to its users. www-mysearch.com might be able to include promotional links in its search results, but we cannot confirm this at this stage. It is most likely that this search engine is set to gather non-personal information about your browsing habits and share it with shady advertisers. In fact, TheBrowser is known to come bundled with adware applications, so they all may be interlinked with one another. While conducting our research we found that this browser comes bundled with ShopperPro and Ytdownloader Deals. So it seems that TheBrowser is closely related with advertising and web monetization practices. However, it is not obvious that this browser is set to advertise something. Whatever the case may be, it can be said that there is something very wrong with it.

Now let us turn our attention to where this browser comes from. Our research has revealed that TheBrowser was created a developer called Goobzo Ltd. This same developer is also responsible for creating a browser hijacker called Search Module. So TheBrowser definitely does not come from a reliable background. So it is no surprise that it comes bundled with malicious software. Furthermore, software bundles that contain this browser can be found on illegitimate software distributing websites. So if you do not want to jeopardize your computer’s security, then you should get rid of this browser.

We hope that this sort description was insightful. In conclusion, TheBrowser is not a malicious program, but it comes bundled with malicious software so your computer’s security could have easily already been compromised. This browser features a search engine that may gather information about your searches for monetary gain. So if you want to delete TheBrowser but do not know how, please refer to the removal guide below. Also, you should remove its accompanying programs as well. For this job we recommend suing an anti-malware scanner.
