Danger level 3
Type: Potentially Unwanted Application

WebChefPlus

WebChefPlus is classified as a potentially unwanted program because it is not very useful, and it was found that it can show advertisements, which is quite unexpected. This PUP is introduced to users as a personal cookbook, and it looks like it could be a useful gadget. It provides users with a recipe book, a menu calendar, a shopping cart, and other seemingly useful features. Nevertheless, this potentially unwanted program is not all that great, and most users will find better alternatives to it. Unfortunately, that is not the reason we recommend removing WebChefPlus.

Our research team advises deleting WebChefPlus because it is quite intrusive and potentially dangerous. This program will use tracking technologies to collect information about you, and the worst part is that third parties will be able to do the same thing. Although it is unlikely that WebChefPlus can collect personal information, the web cookies of third parties might be much more intrusive. So, you already have two reasons to delete this PUP. First of all, it spies on you. Second, it permits suspicious third parties to do the same. If you do not disclose personal information (e.g., via surveys), you might evade security issues. Nonetheless, it is best to remove software that could be associated with this kind of activity.

Although Applon Inc. is introduced as the publisher of WebChefPlus, this potentially unwanted program might have been created by Howard Software Limited. If you initiate the removal of this PUP, you will be introduced to a License Agreement that mentions this company quite a few times, and introduces its Privacy Policy. This company stands behind DesktopClock, EasyMediaConverter, WinClock, and other PUPs that we suggest removing. Fortunately, WebChefPlus, unlike other programs created by Howard Software Limited, does not ask money from you. Unfortunately, it could sell information about you, and because this is dangerous, you should delete WebChefPlus without any hesitation.

Even though users can download WebChefPlus from webchefplus.com, our researchers warn that this PUP could be installed via software bundles as well. If you have downloaded this PUP using a third-party installer, the first thing you need to do is figure out which other programs were installed along with it. Unfortunately, these programs might require removal, and you cannot afford to ignore them. In the worst case scenario, these programs will be used to take over your operating system and scam you, and this is something you have to be cautious about. Of course, if you remove WebChefPlus along with all other threats, you will not need to worry about malicious activity.

The removal of WebChefPlus is straightforward. All you need to do is find the uninstaller and execute it. We have created a removal guide that will help you perform this task quickly and painlessly. Of course, keeping your operating system clean is much more difficult to do than delete some PUP. It is important that you install an authentic Windows protector to ensure that clandestine threats cannot attack you. If you choose to install SpyHunter, you will not need to worry about deleting WebChefPlus either.
