Danger level 7
Type: Browser Hijackers
Common infection symptoms:
  • Hijacks homepage
  • Changes default search engine is a genuine browser hijacker that enters your system without any notice. This infection will modify your default browser settings with the intention to generate financial profit. All browser hijackers and adware programs nowadays are created having the monetary profit in mind, and you cannot expect anything good from it. It goes without saying that you must remove from your system because if you do not, you will soon have to deal with severe computer infections. Browser hijackers are like magnets that draw more threats onto the target system. Thus, the sooner you get rid of this intruder, the better.

Our security researchers note that the data on this infection is scarce. We know for sure that it is a browser hijacker that usually comes bundled with malicious installers. It means that the installer file for this program may be hosted on a variety of websites, and you can never be sure whether it is safe to click a specific link or not. We know for sure that users who indulge in freeware download and installation risk getting infected far often than those who download programs from their official websites. Therefore, if you must have a specific application, make sure you get it from the primary homepage. And even so, do not forget to read all the installation steps carefully. Sometimes even official installers may bring some additional (and unwanted!) programs on your PC.

Likewise, if your default homepage was changed to, it also means that you have several other unwanted programs on-board. It is just that browser hijackers do not make a lot of fuss about remaining silent: they are really in-your-face when it comes to the main payload. So if you have installed a few unreliable programs on your computer, is probably the one you will notice first-hand.

This browser hijacker affects all the major browsers in the market, so it does not matter whether you use Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Internet Explorer, the browser hijacker WILL change your default settings. Please take note, however, that it has not been recorded in the wild that would affect the Edge browser. Either way, this program is still an annoying and dangerous infection that should not be tolerated.

Some users may think that is a reliable search engine, but during our tests we were not able to perform a genuine web search via this domain. We entered the search query into the search box, but the results page simply did not load. Thus, the question is, why would want to keep a search engine that does not work?

Not to mention that could be exploited by malevolent third parties to display outgoing links to affiliated websites. Thus, rather than being an extremely dangerous infection itself, this browser hijacker is more of a tool that can be used by almost anyone for malware promotion and distribution.

Do not take your chances and remove immediately. You will do yourself a favor if you run a full system scan with the SpyHunter frees scanner to determine what programs you must remove from your PC. When you are done with the manual software removal, restore your browser settings to default and be sure to get yourself a legitimate antispyware application that would help you avoid similar issues in the future.
