GameZooks

GameZooks is an application that is supposed to be a game downloader, but we have found that it simply may start displaying potentially harmful third-party ads. Therefore, we have labeled it as an adware program. This kind of ad-supported program has no use for you at all whatsoever. In fact, it is only beneficial to its creators. The sole purpose behind such a program is to generate traffic to third-party websites through the advertisements. The creators are paid by the pay-per-click system. So no wonder that they would do anything to get your attention. However, these ads are not just annoying, but they may also be potentially dangerous to click on. You cannot stop the flow of ads simply by closing the pop-ups. There is only one efficient way to handle this situation, and that is to remove GameZooks as soon as possible.

This adware has an official website at gamezooks.com, but that is more like an online gaming site and not a promotional site for this application. Interestingly enough, you cannot even find a download button or link there; however, there is a page about how to uninstall it. The website itself is a bit suspicious too and we would not advise you to play games on it or click anywhere for that matter; you may easily find yourself redirected to another gaming website that is promoted by GameZooks.

We have discovered that this adware is distributed mainly via freeware bundles. But these bundles are usually packed with malicious software installers. If you are not careful enough during installation, you can easily end up with a whole bunch of unpleasant “surprises.” That is why we always emphasize the importance of running a full system malware scan after deleting the identified infection, which is, in this case, GameZooks.

This program seems to be a support for the developer team who creates the games that you can play on the website. So practically its main function is not game downloading and management, but simply filling your screen with useless advertisements. Unfortunately, you cannot even trust these ads because the third parties may not be reviewed at all. That means that nobody can tell you where you might end up if you click on an ad. It is possible that you land on an annoying gaming site that is full of third-party ads, but you might also be redirected to malicious websites. The best way to avoid these ads and the unpleasant consequences is to delete GameZooks ASAP.

If you are the kind of person who likes to take matters into his/her own hands, we can offer you a manual solution to weed out what does not belong on your computer. Since this adware has a functioning uninstaller, it is easy to eliminate. Please follow our instructions step by step if you are unfamiliar with uninstalling applications. You cannot, however, forget about the possibility that there are other malware infections on-board as well. You need to address that issue before the other threats cause harm. First, detect their presence and if you find any, you need to be strict and remove them all. In order to be effective, we recommend using a trustworthy antimalware application to sort that out for you automatically.
