Great Find

Our researchers have recently found a seemingly clandestine adware application, called Great Find. The program has been under the radar since its inception. But now that we have caught it and it is not going anywhere. We encourage you to remove this program, because it is apt to display advertisements of questionable validity and keep tabs on your browsing activities. So, that is what the application does in a nutshell, but if you crave for more information, we invite you to read the full article.

Great Find is based on the Injekt platform. It supports the tree major web browsers for Microsoft Windows that include Google Chrome Mozilla Firefox, and Internet Explorer. The company that has developed the platform is called Injekt LLC. The company specializes in providing advertising services to whoever is willing to pay for them. Great Find is made to run with most Internet websites, and allows the advertisers to make update the advertisements and content. So the developers do not have to re-release the application every time their clients want to tweak something. It is good for them, but not for the average user. Speaking of releasing adware, let us talk about how Great Find is distributed.

Injekt LLC is widely known for bundling its adware applications with legitimate software. The company is known to have made arrangements with several freeware distributors to feature their adware in their bundles. Software distributors get paid for doing so. Therefore, they turn a blind eye to the fact that the advertisements are unreliable in nature and the applications themselves are used to collect information about the users. We do not want to exaggerate anything, but there is a light possibility that your computer can become infected with malicious software, such as worms, keyloggers, rootkits, backdoors, rogue applications, browser hijackers, and kinds of other infections.

Great Find has been programmed to display coupons, pop-ups, pop-unders, and banners, so you will see its ads quite frequently. We must warn you though that fictitious advertisements usually come in the form of Adobe updates, various system utilities, and recommended antimalware applications. In some cases, you may see a warning that your computer is at severe risk and you must download this specific application to clean it. Do not fall for such tricks, because these kinds of warnings always redirect to malicious websites if clicked.

There is no way you can keep this application and maintain good system security at the same time. The application is a gateway that you can open by accidentally clicking an ad or some sort of update recommendation. Therefore, we suggest that you remove Great Find from your computer in a timely manner. Failure to do so might result in undesirable consequences. Be quick about it, there is no need to hesitate here – remove it.
