Registry Helper

Registry Helper is supposedly a new a new Windows registry cleaner that will fix those pesky registry errors and make your computer run as smooth as is it was new. But it might surprise you to know that we think that Registry Helper is a potentially unwanted application that you can remove, and we will explain and provide arguments to support our claim. We are obligated to inform you that registry errors are an unavoidable, and in most cases the errors are not an issue. So, if you are thinking of buying this rather expensive piece of software, we recommend reading the article beforehand.

Registry errors are not as bad as you might think. Basically, there are five types of registry errors. Orphaned Entries that occur when you uninstall programs and miniscule files are left behind, Duplicate Keys when you reinstall or update a program, Fragmented Registry (similar to Duplicate Keys), System Shutdown Errors, and Malware. The first four types of errors are not an issue, but malware that modifies the registry will cause you a lot of problems that applications, such as Registry Helper cannot resolve. This application has been created to fix errors that do not threaten your computer’s stability.

This program has been created by SafeApp Software LLC. The company has a reputation for creating unreliable software so it is no surprise that this one falls into this category. This application can be downloaded from the company’s main website at Safeappsoftware.com. Currently, the website features 3 software products and one paid service. Even though this article is dedicated to Registry Helper, the company’s other products, called Disk Cleaner and Computer Updater are also implicated, because if you install Registry Helper you might also install the aforementioned programs as well.

If you attempt to download Registry Helper, you will be redirected to a webpage that will ask you to fill in some personal details, such as your first name and email address so that they website could send you the activation key. You can install the application without entering any information on the website and in the dialog boxes during the installation. After the installation is complete the program will run a scan of your system, and will probably find hundreds and even thousands of registry errors. Do not be alarmed by this, especially if your computer is running fine. The application will only fix the errors when you purchase it for $49.95 USD. The website will also conveniently present offers to buy the Disk Cleaner and Computer Updater which both cost an additional $49.95 USD each. That is quite a lot of money for that kind of application, because you can easily find a registry cleaner that will fix registry errors for free.

If you have downloaded Registry Helper due to suspicions that your computer has become infected with malicious applications and is therefore running slow, then we recommend that you scan your computer with a real anti-malware scanner. Our researchers recommend SpyHunter, since it has a constantly updated malware database, and is capable of removing the most dangerous of infections.

As far as Registry Helper goes, well, you can see that the application will only fix errors that will reappear anyway the next you update Firefox, Chrome, Adobe flash player, Java or any other kind of application. So there is no reason to buy or keep this application, especially since it cannot tackle real issues that need immediate attention. Therefore, we suggest that you remove Registry Helper.
