FreeRadioCast Toolbar

Mindspark has once again shocked the world by releasing yet another malicious browser extension, called FreeRadioCast Toolbar. But in all seriousness, the application is just a clone of older toolbars, so anyone who has the toolbar, should remove it, preferably as soon as possible. The toolbar does not display advertisements, because it is not the same as adware. However, it promotes a search engine that might favor unreliable websites in its search results that can infect your system with malicious software. So if you do not want to fall victim to cyber fraud, you should read this article, which contains all available information.

Mindspark Interactive Network, Inc is the full name of the developer, which is responsible for releasing this bad toolbar. And as mentioned, this is not their first malicious toolbar nor is it the last. The company has been engaged in developing such programs for at least a couple of years. BigGameCountdown Toolbar, EmailFanaticToolbar, and FreeLocalWeather Toolbar were released prior to FreeRadioCast Toolbar, so they are relatively new as well.

FreeRadioCast Toolbar is distributed using two methods. The first one is using software bundling. The toolbar can be found bundled with almost any application found on free software sharing websites. But to date, we have not yet found any specific application that FreeRadioCast Toolbar is bundled with. We only assume it to be so based on prior cases. The second method is via a website. In this case, FreeRadioCast Toolbar has been put up for download on a website, called Freeradiocast.com.

As far as the toolbar’s functionality goes, it must be said that it is utterly useless just like all Mindspark toolbars. FreeRadioCast Toolbar is merely a cluster of links to music-related websites that you can bookmark yourself if needed, because all modern browsers have a bookmarking function. If you install the toolbar, you will notice that your homepage and search engine has been changed to something else. Like its predecessors, FreeRadioCast Toolbar promotes a custom search engine that has been developed and is owned by Mindspark. We deem this search engine unreliable due to the unreliable nature of the developer. Research has shown that the company can use browser cookies to collect information about the user, who is using their search engine, and suggest certain websites or alter the search results to include a link to a partner website.

So if you have FreeRadioCast Toolbar installed on your computer, we recommend that you remove it, because the search engine that it promotes is unreliable. The search engine alters the browsing experience by showing customized search results which affects the overall browsing quality. There is no way of knowing if the suggested websites are reliable. So we recommend that you remove FreeRadioCast Toolbar using the instructions provided below.
