Smoothview

If you care about your computer’s security, you will see to it that the likes of Smoothview are removed from your system as soon as possible. This application is an adware program, and, as such, it can lead to various computer security problems. That is not to say that adware applications are malicious system security threats, but Smoothview could be easily exploited by cyber criminals for their own purposes, and that is definitely something we would like to avoid. Therefore, the sooner you remove all the unreliable applications from your computer, the better.

Usually, when the software is legitimate, the advertising functions are part of a particular program. That is done in order for the developer to regain at least part of the development costs, especially if the program is free of charge. The same could be applied to Smoothview as well, but the program treads a very narrow path between application software and malware. This program comes from the Multiplug family of adware applications that are distributed in software bundles via the Vittalia, Amonetize, and InstallRex installers. The programs are based on the JustPlugIt engine, and the list includes such potentially harmful applications as Smart Ones, SaferWeb, RocketCoupon, CheapNCheap, and so on.

It is very likely that this adware application enters your computer bundled with some other adware apps. It might also come with browser hijackers, so, if suddenly your default homepage gets changed without your permission, you need to get yourself a licensed antispyware tool to scan your system and determine what malicious programs are currently running on your computer. You will definitely have several potential threats on-board because Smoothview does not travel on its own.

You have to realize that keeping Smoothview on your system will not be beneficial to you in any way. The application will try to make you think that it can provide you with information on sales and other discount offers across a number of popular online shops, but that is not true because Smoothview does not even check what kind of links are embedded into its ads. The application does generate the ad content itself, and it relies on a third-party advertising network.

The problem is that sometimes those advertising networks are exploited by cyber criminals to promote and distribute their corrupted content, and, if users accidentally click Smoothview ads, they could be redirected to dangerous websites. From there, they would be only one step away from potential malware infection, so it is more than clear why you must remove Smoothview and make sure your system is protected from any potential threats.
