Danger level 3
Type: Potentially Unwanted Application

WinZipper

WinZipper is often identified as a potentially unwanted program, because computer users install it expecting to install 4zip. The Download button found at 4-zip.com should be linked to 4zip, which is promoted as the best file compression system. However, the installation wizard presents WinZipper. Of course, you don’t have to use suspicious, unfamiliar programs on your PC if you don’t want to. You can remove WinZipper, and the removal tips in this report will help you do that.

Even though WinZipper might seem like an undesirable program, the question is whether it is malicious and deserving of removal. Some users delete WinZipper without thinking about it twice, and this is something you might want to do as well. Nonetheless, chances are that WinZipper is identical to 4zip. Of course, you cannot just assume this! Even if you are comfortable with the privacy policies of 4zip, it would be smart to identify WinZipper as a separate application that can act in a different manner and that might require removal.

As you might know, the developer of 4zip is Woodtale Technology Limited, but the company you will have to deal with if you install WinZipper is Taiwan Shui Mu Chih Ching Technology Ltd. This publisher is associated with the Qone8 and Omiga Plus hijackers, both of which deserve immediate removal, which is why we don’t advise trusting it like any regular software publisher. If a company is associated with malware, all programs that it publishes must be placed under a magnifying glass. The last thing you want is to be tricked into trusting malicious programs that actually do require removal.

Even though WinZipper is suspicious, and many users choose to delete it from their operating systems, our malware analysts have discovered that it does provide the services that are promised to you. The only thing you need to keep in mind is that WinZipper could be installed on your PC bundled with third-party programs. If you carelessly install these programs without analyzing them, you might get into trouble. If you want to learn if you need to remove WinZipper-related malware, you must install a legitimate malware scanner. Scan your PC periodically so as not to miss any malicious programs that must be removed.

The potentially unwanted program WinZipper is questionable, but it is unlikely that you need to delete it for security reasons. Even though automated malware removal software should be installed on your operating system at all times to protect you from the attacks of vicious schemers, you don’t need this software to delete WinZipper. We have prepared a manual removal guide that will help you delete this PUP from your PC.
