DivX Browser Bar Toolbar

Before you install a new browser plug-in on your computer, you should stop and think whether you need it. For example, things like DivX Browser Bar Toolbar are not necessary. This browser extension is a potentially unwanted application that is labeled as adware. Some users think that DivX Browser Bar Toolbar is a browser hijacker because of its intrusive nature, but that is not the case. Browser hijackers come in stealthily while users install DivX Browser Bar Toolbar themselves. Whichever way it might be, remove DivX Browser Bar Toolbar from the system as soon as possible.

One of the main reasons why you should not trust DivX Browser Bar Toolbar is that it is created by Conduit Ltd. There is an entire family of potentially dangerous browser extensions from Conduit. Some of the more unpopular names include Freecorder Toolbar, Eazel Toolbar, DivX Toolbar and many others. What is more, DivX Browser Bar Toolbar clearly makes use of the DivX trademark in order to make an impression that the application is reliable. Nevertheless, according to our research DivX no longer works with Conduit Ltd, so it is obvious that DivX Browser Bar Toolbar is a highly suspicious application that should not be allowed to remain on your computer.

The reason some computer users think DivX Browser Bar Toolbar is a browser hijacker is that usually this extension modifies your browser settings. It may change your homepage and default search engine to search.conduit.com. Technically, if you download DivX Browser Bar Toolbar from divxbrowserbar.ourtoolbar.com (that is no longer functional), you should be able to choose whether you want your browser settings changed or not during the installation process. Unfortunately, users often skip important setup steps and eventually that results in browser settings modification.

At first it might seem that DivX Browser Bar Toolbar and the search engine can improve your web browsing and online search experience. But you have to notice just how many commercial advertisements this application displays. Most of these ads are not safe because DivX Browser Bar Toolbar does not check them! Conduit toolbars are not responsible for the safety of third-party content, so when you click on a commercial ad or a search result provided by DivX Browser Bar Toolbar and Conduit search – you click them at your risk.

Some of the links may lead you to malware-related websites, so you have to terminate DivX Browser Bar Toolbar from your computer as soon as possible, if you want to prevent potential security issues. Uninstall DivX Browser Bar Toolbar via Control Panel and then restore your browser settings to default. Do not forget to invest in a reliable antispyware application if need be.
