Rad Rater is not a computer virus, but this program may cause you some trouble. It is an adware application that will collect information on your web browsing habits so that it could display customized advertisements. Unless you remove Rad Rater from your computer, you will be flooded with annoying ads, and eventually, it could slow down your browser. Rad Rater may also inadvertently expose you to unreliable websites, and in the end it could lead to serious malware infection. The best way to avoid that is to get rid of this program right now.
Inexperienced user might think that Rad Rater is a useful application. During Rad Rater setup, the installer says that this application “provides elements to enrich the functionality of your browsing experience. Rad Rater adds website ratings and reviews, multi-site searching, related search results, comparing shopping and special deals.” The application is promoted just as heavily on its main homepage via radrater.mobi. It says that with Rad Rater the “web can be great.” However, it is not possible to download the application from the main homepage, and that is your first sign that something is not right.
The fact that Rad Rater comes from SuperWeb family of adware applications should be enough to realize that there is nothing beneficial about this application. This adware program is simply a new version of BetterEnhance, Larparus, BrowsePro and many more potentially unwanted applications from the same group. We can also tell that Rad Rater always comes bundled with freeware apps via third-party installers. It means that you install this adware app on your computer yourself. You most probably did not notice additional lines on the setup that informed you about other software that was about to be installed on your PC. As a result, you now have Rad Rater displaying ads whenever you access BestBuy, Amazon, eBay or any other popular online store.
According to the official website Rad Rater is supposed to be compatible with Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome web browsers, but the extension does not install on Google Chrome because the newest browser versions block it. It also proves that Rad Rater is not entirely safe, and there is no need to keep it on your system.
Luckily, it is not hard to uninstall Rad Rater. If you open Control Panel, you will see its entry on the list of installed programs. Remove this application manually and then check whether you need to terminate any other applications. If you are not sure which programs must be removed from the PC, scan the system with SpyHunter free scanner. Do everything you can to keep your computer safe and clean.
