Radio PI Community Toolbar

It is very common for random third party applications to take names of well-known websites or online products. For example, Radio PI Community Toolbar may sound like a useful application that can help you access various radio stations online, but in reality it is a Conduit toolbar that is categorized as a potentially unwanted application. If you have encountered a Conduit browser plug-in before, you definitely know that it is necessary to remove Radio PI Community Toolbar from your computer, because the application may inadvertently expose you to potentially corrupted content.

Based on our security research Radio PI Community Toolbar is already a one-year-old toolbar that is just another version of such browser plug-ins as Travelocity Toolbar, ChatVibes Toolbar or WiseConvert Toolbar. There are actually a lot of toolbars that can be downloaded at the main Conduit website, and all of these browser extensions are promoted as “community” toolbars. Radio PI Community Toolbar is also available for download at radiopi.toolbar.fm although do not be surprised if this toolbar arrives bundled with other freeware applications. It is very common for Conduit browser plug-ins to be distributed with freeware programs via third party installers and file hosting pages.

What is more, quite often users think that Radio PI Community Toolbar is a browser hijacker. As you know, browser hijackers are computer infections that modify browser settings without user’s permission. In that aspect, Radio PI Community Toolbar is very far from being a browser hijacker, although it can change your default home page and search engine to search.conduit.com during the installation. The point is that you are asked whether you want your default home page changed or not, and you can choose NOT to perform any browser settings changes. Nevertheless, if you go through Radio PI Community Toolbar installation automatically, skipping several steps, it is very likely that a few undesirable changes will be carried out.

Luckily, it is not complicated to uninstall Radio PI Community Toolbar manually via Control Panel. Keep in mind that you might need to restore your browser settings on your own as well. The main reason why you need to terminate Radio PI Community Toolbar is not because this application may prove to be annoying. The problem is that it displays a lot of commercial advertisements that may redirect you to various suspicious and even corrupted websites. Even though malware infection is not a definite outcome of constant redirections, it is still a possibility, so the sooner you get rid of this application the better.

Also, you should terminate all the other related programs that might have arrived with Radio PI Community Toolbar. Finally, acquire a licensed antimalware tool that will help you avoid installing similar applications in the future.
