Icovallid

There are a lot of applications that are hardly useful and yet they still get installed on computers on a regular basis. Icovallid adware application is one of them. The real name of this application is Icovalid with single “L”, but users often search for information on this program entering double “l” into the title, hence the mix-up with the name and search keywords. Nevertheless, whether it is Icovalid or Icovallid, it is still the same adware program that should not be allowed to remain on your PC. If you have it installed remove Icovallid right now and ensure that there no other similar applications on the PC.

Such applications are always rather questionable and highly suspicious. The problem is that they are not direct computer security threats. They usually have an official home page, and the same can be applied to Icovallid as well, because you can access it at icovalid.info. However, the website does not provide you a download link for the application and it has only scarce information on the program itself which reads:

As you can see Icovallid is being promoted as an application that can help you verify an .ico format files before conversion. However, rather than being a useful application, Icovallid is actually an adware program that has been created to display commercial advertisements when you access the Internet. Computer users have reported that Icovallid is responsible for generating in-text ads on Google Chrome and other web browsers. When one hovers a mouse cursor over the ad, a pop-up appears which says “Click to Continue > by IcoValid”.

If you are seeing the advertisements by Icovallid, technically you should be able to opt out if you follow the official link provided by the application. However, that does not guarantee that will be the last you see of commercial ads. They may come back as long as you have Icovallid installed on your computer and on your browser.

Needless to say, that prolonged exposure to third party advertisements can result in various computer security problems, as users could get involved in shady marketing schemes. To avoid that from happening, it is necessary to remove Icovallid from the computer.
