Flash Player is needed pop-up

‘Flash Player is needed’ pop-up is one of those virtual messages you need to avoid and ignore. This alert may be presented as a banner advertisement or a pop-up regardless of the browser you are running or the version of your operating system. Unfortunately, if the application has appeared to you, there is a great possibility that adware (advertisement supported software) is already running on your personal computer. In some cases, adware can be camouflaged as authentic and reliable browser extensions, and in other cases they could be installed onto the PC illegally. Overall, we strongly recommend that you remove ‘Flash Player is needed’ pop-up related software from your operating system.

There are a few different versions of the ‘Flash Player is needed’ pop-up. Once you click on this fictitious alert, you will be routed to a website presenting some program. Here is an example:

Message from webpage
Your Flash Player is ready to Download! Click ok to download

The page representing this fictitious notification may be quite convincing and misleading. You may be informed that by downloading the supposedly needed Flash Player you will be able to watch videos in HD without buffering. As our researchers have discovered, it is most likely that you will be offered to install the infamous FLV Player. This suspicious product can be presented by the ‘You need to update your media player’ pop-up as well. Needless to say, neither of these alerts is reliable and installing the FLV Player is not something we recommend. These programs could be bundled together with other undesirable application and even malware. In fact, in most cases the installer seems to fail; however, this is just a diversion to help adware developers install suspicious files and add registry entries.

Have you installed ‘Flash Player is needed’ pop-up promoted applications onto your personal computer? If you have, you need to delete them as soon as possible. Unfortunately, the removal of this software might be quite complicated. If you do not know how to locate and remove malicious registry entries and files, you certainly should use automatic malware detection and removal software. If you are not scared to make mistakes or disrupt the operating system further, and you know how to delete ‘Flash Player is needed’ pop-up related programs and adware – perform the manual removal.
