Social Privacy Virus

Social Privacy Virus is not a virus but a browser hijacker. Since it is installed without your permission, you may think that your browsers are infected by a computer virus. Social Privacy Virus, or simply Social Privacy, is installed as a browser add-on, which changes the settings of the browsers. The home page of the browser is changed to search.conduit.com, whereas the search engine is changed to Conduit Search; however, the search results are provided by Bing. It is important to remove Social Privacy Virus from the system because the new search engine displays different advertisements on the startup page; moreover, some advertisements are generated on online shopping websites, including ebay.com and walmart.com.

We recommend that you ignore all the advertisements that are displayed by Social Privacy Virus because some of them might take you to insecure websites. The content of the advertisements and the website to which you are taken is not monitored of filtered by any malware detection technology, which means that you interact with those advertisements at your own risk. You may be invited to play an online game, to read some article, to browse some shopping websites and so on. Not all of the websites to which you are exposed are insecure, but you should be aware of the potential danger.

Social Privacy Virus can monitor your browsing behavior so that the information can be shared with third parties, which usually seek to designed target advertisements and attract as many visitors to their websites as possible. The browser add-on may record your search terms, the information about the advertisements that you click on, your browsing preferences, the version of the browser, and the like. Later, you may find advertisements based on your browsing habits and browsing interests, but if you do not want to be annoyed by all those ads, simply remove Social Privacy Virus from the computer.

The browser hijacker drops its components to the Uninstall a program applet, where you can find three entries related to the browser hijacker. However, manual removal may be insufficient. Some files and other components of Social Privacy Virus may remain within the system to monitor you and consume the resources of the computer. Hence, it is advisable to implement a powerful spyware removal tool. We recommend using SpyHunter because this application can easily remove the browser hijacker, fix your browsers and shield the system from harmful Trojan horses, browser hijackers, adware programs, and other threats. Moreover, it saves your time by running automatic scans.
