Danger level 6
Type: Adware
Common infection symptoms:
  • Shows commercial adverts
  • Annoying Pop-up's

You may be presented with the advertising domain through the pop-ups and banner advertisements displayed on the websites you visit. Some sites related to promotional content are likely to display adverts regardless of the software installed onto the PC; however, it has been discovered that advertisements supported through the domain could be displayed with the help of some browser add-ons. In case you have discovered the flooding of suspicious advertisements right after you installed some application onto the computer, we recommend that you delete it. Needless to say, it is important to remove advertisements as well.

Advertisement supported programs are not critically malicious because they cannot perform highly malignant activity. Unfortunately, it has been discovered that adware can expose Windows security vulnerabilities because the presented advertisements belong to third parties. As you may understand this already, third parties are only affiliated to the systems which support them. In the case of the suspicious the advertising domain allows both trustworthy and unreliable parties to promote different products. This is a security vulnerability that cyber criminals have employed, which is why you need to beware of the misleading information or unreliable links presented through the ads.

In case you click on an advertisement which is presented by schemers, there are various undesirable activities which you could face. For example, you could be asked to enter your email address, full name and the mobile phone number in order to participate in some suspicious prize draw. Needless to say, this personally identifiable information could be used to scam you in the future. You could also be introduced to a seemingly beneficial program which could hide malware. Make sure you do not download packaged software without researching what you download beforehand.

To delete advertisements from the system you need to break the connection made to this domain. Therefore, you need to remove programs and plugins which may be responsible for it. If you know exactly what program it is you can delete it right away. Of course, if you are unsure we advise that you install a spyware scanner which will inspect the computer and let you know which applications require removal. For further protection you should install automatic malware removal software. We recommend using SpyHunter because this program will delete existing malware without any issues. Note that to delete undesirable plugins you can follow the instructions below.
