Internet Police Virus

Internet Police Virus is a ransomware infection that locks your computer screen and displays a fake warning message. It is associated with such malicious infections as Comandancia General de Policía virus, Ministry of Public Safety Canada virus and Poliisihallituksen Virus. These are just a few of the examples, as the criminals behind the ransomware have got it infecting computers worldwide and they translated the message into numerous languages.

They can trace your IP and know what country you are residing in and choose the language according to that. This particular ransomware version affects users in Ecuador. The bottom line is that this is a very dangerous infection and so you should remove Internet Police Virus. The fact that there are emblems of such organisations as Internet Police and Cyber Crime Investigations on the message only means that the criminals are trying hard to make you believe they are the real deal.

If you are seeing the message from “Commandancia General de Policía” and “Unidad de Investigaciones Especiales (UIES)”, it means that this nasty infection definitely found its way into your system. It usually is spread by malicious Trojan Urausy viruses, comes attached with spam emails, and lurks in dangerous websites. See the excerpts from the alert it displays:

¡ATENCIÓN! Su ordenador personal ha sido bloqueado por rezones de seguridad vistos los motives abajo detallados.

El monto de su multa es de USD $100 (Dólares EE.UU.).

La multa puede ser pagada con Ukash vouchers.

The ransomware wants to extract money, so it demands you pay a “fine”. However, they realize they have to intimidate you enough first for you to cave in. The criminals try to achieve that by accusing you of various crimes and stating that you can face huge fines and/or prison sentences should you fail to pay their initial fine.

They will display a variety of alleged crimes - possessing and/or distributing children, animal and rape pornography and pirated music, video files and software. The criminals do not stop there and also state that you have not only been sending mass spam emails but have also hacked some very sensitive information. All those claims are bogus and you absolutely should not comply with their demands. What you should do is delete Internet Police Virus.

Before you try to remove Internet Police Virus, you should know that manual removal is not advised. It is a very malicious infection and in order to successfully delete it on your own you should have experience in dealing with computer infections. However, there is always the option of removing it automatically, with a malware removal tool. All you need to do is follow the instructions below and you should have your computer free of the ransomware and protected against similar threats in the future.
