DLL-Fixer.com

DLL-Fixer.com, or dll-files.com/fixer, is a website which allows you to download their allegedly legit product called “DLL-files fixer”. Their website looks very genuine, with a pristine and professional design, Facebook plug-in showing over 60,000 “likes” along with a user commentary box next to it. Their product is supposed to “resolve .dll related errors” and otherwise improve your system’s performance. However, if you were to install this malware program, you would find that it does not attest to its word and is not only completely useless, but also potentially very dangerous.  The best course of action you could possible take is to remove DLL-Fixer.com’s treacherous product.

If you try to remove the malware program you installed from DLL-Fixer.com, you will see that they definitely do not want you doing that. You will get a fake Windows dialogue box which will say “Please wait until the current program is finished uninstalling or being changed”. If you have dabbled in managing your programs before, you know that such message does pop up sometimes; however, in this case it is just a way to prevent you from removing DLL-files fixer. Another alarming thing is their Privacy Policy, as displayed online. They admit they will collect your private information, such as e-mail address and browsing history and they say that they may share that with third-party services:

“<…>

We collect the e-mail addresses of those who communicate with us via e-mail, compile information on what pages consumers access or visit, information volunteered by the consumer, such as survey information and/or site registrations.

<…>

From time to time, we make the e-mail addresses of those who access our site available to other reputable organizations whose products or services we think you might find interesting.

<…>

From time to time, we make our customer e-mail list available to other reputable organizations whose products or services we think you might find interesting.

<…>

We use third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit our website. These companies may use information (not including your name, address, email address or telephone number) about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you.

<…>

From time to time, we may use customer information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our privacy notice.

<…>”

The excerpts provided are unedited and shown as seen in their website. The fact that this policy is clearly written by a person who does not have decent knowledge of neither English nor legal procedures is not the only alarming thing. If you read this closely, it is pretty obvious that they can and do collect data on you and can and do share it with third parties. That means that if you choose to “upgrade” to their bogus premium version, you will make your sensitive information accessible to cyber criminals. If you already have done that, do not hesitate to contact your bank or credit card provider immediately to prevent bank fraud.

DLL-Fixer.com will not only install their DLL-Files Fixer, you will also get an unhelpful toolbar and possibly a bunch of infections. The program will generate advertisements, slow down both your computer and your browser. What it will definitely not do is fix your broken or invalid .dll files. After reading all this information on what this malware does the natural conclusion is to remove DLL-Files Fixer as soon as possible.

However, when you want to delete it, you face the fact that they do not want you to do that and do not allow a regular program un-installation. This and the fact that manual removal attempts may damage your system if you are not experienced leads to the safest option being an automated removal. To do that, you can install a safe and precise malware removal tool which will help you get rid off DLL-Files Fixer and will also clean other infections it might have led to appearing in your computer.

I'd like to know who wrote this article, because it is completely off.

The DLL files fixer works perfectly fine, and whenever I have a dll error I use this program it it fixes it.

The only real problem with this application is that after it is installed, a message pops up once a day telling you to fix DLL files.

I havent found any viruses on my PC ever so far using this product.

Had to Uninstall through professional means for corrupting and damaging my files. A professional scan revealed 831 errors which were suppose to have been fixed. The program had damaged my network and opened the door to hackers by disabling key programs. I have seen the evidence first hand. I am glad it is off my computer and now I am protected by high end pro software.
