DivX Toolbar

DivX Toolbar is a browser add-on, which is promoted by the DivX software that you can find at dvix.com. We recommend that you remove this browser plug-in as it can change the home page and search engine of such internet browsers as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Internet Explorer.

As Divx Toolbar is attached to the DivX video converter, which implies that you should pay close attention to the information provided by the installation wizard. First, you are expected to select at least one of the additional components of the software in order to be allowed to click the Next button. Afterwards, a window offering you to install a browser bar is provided. Here you should be extra cautious. If you have DivX Toolbar on your browsers, it is likely that you have missed these two options and their tick boxes:

Install DivX Browser Bar.

Set my default search and home page to Conduit Search. Install and enable Search Protect to notify me of changes.

It is important to note that on Windows 8 in Metro mode, the toolbar is not visible on Internet Explorer and Google Chrome.

As to Search Protect by Conduit, it is presented as a tool enabling you to prevent unauthorized changes that could be made by third-parties. You will find its entry in Control Panel as well as Divx Setup and DivX Browser Bar Toolbar.

DivX Toolbar features buttons that enables the user to convert your videos so that you can watch them on any DivX device and perform any other functions.

As it is powered by conduit, the home page of the browsers is changed to search.conduit.com, and the startup page contains the Bing search icon. On Internet Explorer, the search provider is presented as DivX Browser Bar Customized Webs search. On Mozilla Firefox, two components are added, each of which are located in different sections. In the Add-ons Manager, you can find those components under the headings Extensions and Plugins.

If you do not want to be monitored, you should remove DivX Toolbar right away and restore the settings of the browsers. You can easily do so by implementing SpyHunter, which will remove the unwanted toolbar and protect the PC against malware attacks. Note that your operating system should always be up-to-date, not to mention the need of a reputable security tool that can save your time and money. Use SpyHunter if you want to be fully protected.
