Ib.Adnxs

If your Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome browsers are flooded with pop-up ads, it is possible that Ib.Adnxs infection has been infiltrated onto the computer. Also known as Ib.Adnxs Virus or Ib.Adnxs.com browser hijacker, the clandestine application may change browser’s home page and search engine without prior authorization. Of course, the main symptom of the malicious threat is the avalanche of irritating and possibly misleading pop-up advertisements. If you have noticed abrupt web page rerouting to Ib.Adnxs.com or sites related to appnexus.com, and your desktop is flooded with adware – rush to delete Ib.Adnxs from the operating Windows system.

Those whose computers are not infected with the suspicious hijacker will access appnexus.com after typing Ib.Adnxs.com into the address bar. The website is dedicated to promoting the self-proclaimed ‘most powerful, open and customizable advertising technology platform.’ If you scroll down to the bottom of the page, you can find the link to the Privacy Statement. It is important that you read this in order to realize how the suspicious Ib.Adnxs works. Here are a few excerpts which you may find interesting:

Interest-based advertising uses information collected across multiple web sites to predict users' preferences and to show ads that are most likely to be of interest to those users.

The Platform uses unique cookies to identify web browsers and to store data for advertising purposes, including interest-based advertising.

Needless to say, Appnexus may provide you with beneficial services; however, it is important that you see the difference between legal and illegal actions. If the developers of the advertising platform leaked information about your online activities and habits to schemers, it is likely that you will be presented with misleading pop-ups. Clicking on them could allow schemers to drop malignant tracking cookies and to expose you to bogus offers and even virtual scams.

If you have noticed unstoppable Ib.Adnxs advertisements flooding the screen or your browser settings have been modified without your consent, it is likely that a malicious browser hijacker is waiting for removal.
