Google WebHP Virus

Google WebHP Virus is a redirect virus which you should remove from the PC as soon as possible. This cunning virus may get to your PC alongside various free applications, including iLivid. Once the threat gets to the system, it alters the hosts file so that you are redirected to google.com/webhp which will be set as your home page. With this browser hijacker on your browsers, you may need to try several times to access the real search results.

You may also be redirected to google.com/webhp when you access searchou.com, search.privitize.com, searchab.com or any other malicious search engines which are provided for you by an insecure browser add-on or other applications. When you click the link, you will notice that some website flashes and you are directed to google.com/webhp afterwards.

Google WebHP Virus can also open new tabs and display pop-up advertisements. Not surprisingly, they are used to redirect you to irrelevant websites that need to get more traffic. If you have tried to scan the PC with your security tool but have not come up with positive results, it is possible that the browser hijacker has disabled your anti-virus program or even the Windows Firewall.

In the system, this browser hijacker creates a random .dll file which is located in the %APPDATA% directory. Another file that can be installed is xriotabb.dll which is also associated with Google Redirect Virus. The size of this file is 485.37K and it is located in the subfolders of the %USERPROFILE% folder.
