Sweetpacks

Sweetpacks is a browser extension which is better known by the name SweetIM. It is possible that the application has been dropped onto your browsers and your operating system after installing freeware; however, you can also download it from sweetim.sweetpacks.com. The source promotes the add-on as a tool which can offer you free emoticons and smileys for your email and instant messengers. Are you thinking about downloading this browser extension? We do not recommend this. Has it already been attached to all of the existing browsers? Then continue reading to find out how you should delete Sweetpacks and why its removal is important for your own virtual security.

It has been discovered that Sweetpacks can download secondary applications (e.g. DealPly) and can reconfigure browser settings. Is this initiated without your consent? It is not, and you can choose to leave the settings as they were before downloading the suspicious application. Despite this, you should not only pay attention to the presented installation wizard but also take a good look at the Privacy Policy statements, some of which are presented below.

To do this, the Company uses Web beacons and cookies provided by a third party company.

The fact that the company may collect information about your virtual activity using cookies is concerning enough; however, it is most important to stay cautious about the third parties and their intentions. It is possible that Sweetpacks affiliates are related to malignant activity, in which case you could be presented with pop-up ads and filtered results leading you to malware infiltration or virtual schemes. Even though this is just a possibility, you should be cautious about it. Overall, it is recommended that you remove Sweetpacks from your browsers as soon as possible.
