Europol ransomware virus

Europol ransomware virus is a fraudulent program designed to scare computer users by locking their computers down and presenting a fake warning. As the only reason why this piece of ransomware has been created is to make people pay money through Ukash or Paysafecard, the message displayed by the virus is designed to look as convincing as possible. There are many variants of infection that operate in this manner, and it is just a matter of time before a new ransomware infection is released. Ransomware infections such as Europol ransomware virus are called Ukash viruses, and so far, a variety of them has been discovered by researchers; for example, Polizia Di Stato virus and Canadian Security Intelligence Service virus are just a few infections of the vast group of Ukash viruses, which cannot be trusted at all.

In the case of Europol ransomware virus, Europol, the European law enforcement agency, is presented. The virus presents a fake message providing the user with a lengthy explanation of why the PC is locked down and what legal action might be taken if you do not pay €100. By paying the ransom, the user is told that he/she will avoid prosecution for supposed illegal activities related to using and distributing copyrighted material. Below you will find some extracts from the misleading Europol ransomware message:
