Polizia postale e delle virus
Polizia postale e delle virus is not really a computer virus. Sure, it is a computer threat, but it is classified as ransomware. It is closely related to other Ukash viruses, that operate on the same principle - Interpol Departament of Cybercrime Virus, Cybercrime Investigation Department Virus, FBI Moneypak and so on. Polizia postale e delle virus is obviously designed to attack Italian-speaking computer users.
During the infection Ukash infection "reads" the user's IP address and then chooses the correct localized version of the ransomware. So if the user has an IP based on Italy, the ransomware automatically becomes Polizia postale e delle virus. Right after the installation, this computer threat locks the user's desktop and displays a message in Italian that says the computer is locked because of illegal activity.
Polizia postale e delle virus says that the user has been downloading music illegally and he might face imprisonment for that. However, the virus also very conveniently reminds the user that his computer can be unlocked and the charges reconsidered, if he pays 100 euro fine to the Italian police. Polizia postale e delle virus has nothing to do with the Italian police authorities and the user should never reveal his financial information to Polizia postale e delle virus.
Even if Polizia postale e delle virus says that it will unlock the computer after the user pays the fine that is an absolute lie. It is only a question of time before this infection locks the computer again. The only way to solve this problem is to remove Polizia postale e delle virus for good.
First of all, the user has to get to his system controls and that is possible via Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Networking. Both could be accessed after a system restart by pressing F8. If the user is competent enough to terminate Polizia postale e delle virus manually, loading the system in Safe Mode is enough to access Registry Editor and other system tools. But if the user wants to remove Polizia postale e delle virus automatically, he has to load Safe Mode with Networking, launch the Internet browser and acquire an antimalware program of choice.
The program should erase Polizia postale e delle virus for good. The user will also be able to scan his system for any other possible threats.
