RegTOOL is a malicious rogue defragmenter designed by the same developers behind ErrorEasy, ErrorRepair Tool and RegFix Pro. The fake defragger pretends to offer optimization benefits to the PC and will attempt to convince its victims that it is able to protect it from disruptive errors. The truth is RegTOOL has no ability to detect or remove any type of threat from the system. This malicious rogue defragger was simply designed to rip its victims off, just like its predecessors.
This rogue will enter the system surreptitiously without the user’s knowledge or consent. In fact the first clue the user will have as to the presence of RegTOOL on the system will come from RegTOOL imitating a fake system scan. It will use this opportunity to convince the user that his PC is being overrun by various distressing symptoms. It will offer to fix these errors, but only once the user actually pays for a RegTOOL license, of course.
The executable file of this rogue is RegTool.exe which is located under a subfolder of C:\Program Files. The file size is 245,760 bytes. The rogue’s user interface uses genuine Microsoft icons and graphics to further convince its victims that it is dealing with a legitimate defragmenter, which they are certainly not.
Shortly after the fake system scan completes the user will be spammed by numerous annoying system messages in the form of popups. These popups will inform the user of the same bogus alerts saying that the PC is buckling under the weight of various distressing errors. It will also urge you to pay for RegTOOL’s worthless software. Never believe any correspondence received from RegTOOL.
Symptoms associated with this malicious rogue range from increased erratic system behavior and extremely poor system performance. It has also been reported that RegTOOL will crash certain system applications and may hide the contents of some folders from the user.
In order to limit the damage this rogue will be able to cause your PC, destroy RegTOOL with the help of a powerful security tool immediately and take back what is rightfully yours.
