Trojan.Otlard.B

Trojan.Otlard.B is a malicious Trojan which might look like a legitimate program. Sometimes it can even be integrated into real software. This Trojan has a few ways to enter your system and it always gets in there without your knowledge or consent. Usually it is distributed with spam email messages, so you should never open an attachment from an unknown sender unless you are sure it is safe. Trojan.Otlard.B can also be hiding behind instant messages’ links and various pictures.

Once this infection gets into your system it exhibits the general Trojan behavior by changing your desktop background and displaying various fake security messages. These messages are displayed in order to promote some kind of fake security software. Trojan.Otlard.B can also allow hackers to access your computer without permission, obviously breaching your privacy. Among all the other things the Trojan slows down your system, and it can bring additional spyware onto your system.

Due to the fact that Trojan.Otlard.B does not have a visible interface it might be hard to determine whether you have this infection or not. But there are certain processes associated with this Trojan, and if you spot them in your Windows Task Manager, you can be sure that you are infected. There is Asdiph.exe which is a banking information stealer and a cloaked piece of malware which is good at resisting interrogation by security products. Cndrive32.exe is also cloaked malware while baka1.exe is a fraudulent security program which can download various program files from the Internet without your consent.

Some of the processes associated with Trojan.Otlard.B also predend to be genuine system files. For example, ctfmon.exe runs in the background when the user uses some Microsoft Office XP program, and this file is located in C:\Windows\System32. If you see another process with the same name which is located in some other directory, then it definitely means that you are infected and you need to take care of this infection as soon as possible.

Trojan.Otlard.B is hard to remove manually especially if you do not know anything about your computer’s system.
