WinPCDefender (WinPC Defender, Win PC Defender) is another fake spyware application. Once the user visits one of many suspicious websites, WinPCDefender mimics a computer scan and reports to the user a variety of ‘infections’. WinPCDefender can scan a computer online without the user’s knowledge or permission. Should a user manually download WinPCDefender, it will continue to give problems. WinPCDefender displays fake pop-up alerts to trick the user into purchasing a licensed version of this program. There is no such thing as a “Full” version. WinPCDefender displays all these warnings which are totally false. WinPCDefender is a danger to any computer system once it has downloaded and embedded itself. It is recommended that WinPCDefender be removed as soon as it has been detected.
