Downadup

Downadup, (also known as Conficker, Kido Worm), is a malicious worm that takes full advantage of Windows security vulnerability called MS08-067 in order to proliferate itself across networks. Once these networks are infected, Downadup may disable Windows system services such as Window Defender, Automatic Backup, Windows Error Reporting and Windows Automatic Update. Downadup may obstruct certain websites and may install further malware onto your computer system.
You may not be vulnerable to the Downadup worm if you have your Automatic Update feature turned on for Microsoft Windows Update. Upon detection of the Downadup worm, it is suggested that you configure your computer system to receive critical updates and patches from Microsoft and run a full scan with an up-to-date version of your anti-virus or anti-malware program. Downadup may endeavour to recreate itself on reboot.
