It seems that SuperWeb adware family is expanding as here comes Appstein.info – a browser hijacker. This application modifies your default homepage and search engine to a customized Yahoo! Search page, but it does not inform users that it is going to do so during the installation. What is more, Appstein.info makes use of a big portion of the SuperWeb adware engine, so we can assume that it comes from the same family of potentially unwanted programs. There is no direct download link for this application, but it is clear that Appstein.info gets distributed bundled with freeware via third-party websites. Unlike other SuperWeb applications, Appstein.info does not add any add-ons or extensions to your default browser. It only has three processes running in the background and you most probably would not even notice that you have Appstein.info on board, if it were not for the browser settings modification.

Needless to say, it is rather annoying when your default homepage changes without your permission. On top of that, Appstein.info clearly collects data on your web browsing habits and displays third-party commercial offers, trying to make money for its creators. Each time you click on a sponsored link or a pop-up advertisement, you get redirected to a third-party website increasing its traffic. These websites earn money via pay-per-click system, so you help them do it by opening the site in question.

Unfortunately, some of the websites might be related to malware. You may even initiate another adware download the moment you land on an affiliated website. 2. Wait for Charm bar to appear and click Settings. Go to Control panel.
3. Open Uninstall a program and remove Appstein.

Restore browser settings to default

Mozilla Firefox
